«Permyak - salty ears»
«Permyak - salty ears»

The famous monument was erected in front of the Prikamye Hotel in 2006 and has been a favorite place for tourists' photos ever since. The magazine «Russian World» called the city sculpture «Permyak - salty ears» the strangest monument in the country. It consists of two parts – a round frame with large ears and the figure of a photographer with an antique camera. The author of the composition, Rustam Ismagilov, amusingly beat the nickname of the inhabitants of the Perm lands, workers of salt factories, which they received for wearing bags on their shoulders and having characteristically red, irritated ears from salt.

It is easy to find the main bear of Perm – since 2009 he has been constantly «walking» in the very center of the city, opposite the Central Department Store, which is a 3-minute walk from the Prikamye Hotel.
